Members of the Property Management Services Authority Attended the Inauguration Ceremony of the Shenzhen Institute of Property Managers

Dr James WONG, Chairperson of the Property Management Services Authority (PMSA) led a delegation of PMSA Members to visit Shenzhen for attending the Inauguration Ceremony of the Shenzhen Institute of Property Managers (SIPM).  Exchanges were made regarding the operation of the property management (PM) industries of Shenzhen and Hong Kong and collaboration within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA).

Dr James WONG, Chairperson of the PMSA was invited to be the Guest of Honour by the SIPM and delivered a speech at the Inauguration Ceremony.  Other Guests of Honour included Ms QIU Yingying, Director of the Housing Security Department, Housing and Construction Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality, and Mr LI Fengping, Deputy Director of the Social Organization Registration Division, Civil Affairs Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality.

Dr WONG said in his speech, “It is delightful to lead the fellow Members of the PMSA to visit Shenzhen to meet with the Housing and Construction Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality and SIPM Members, and to participate in the Inauguration Ceremony of the SIPM. The establishment of the SIPM is a major step forward for regulating PM pracititioners and setting out professional requirement, and in turn raises the quality and standard of the Shenzhen PM industry, opening a new chapter for driving the future development of the PM industry of Shenzhen Municipality.  Moreover, the SIPM has become a proactive and positive role model and has boosted the development of the PM industry of the GBA.”

Dr WONG added, “The PMSA wishes success for the SIPM’s establishment and its platform building, so that PM elites from all corners can gather together and make good use of its professional strength collaboratively.  Shenzhen Municipality spearheaded the reform and opening-up of the Mainland and is the cradle of the Mainland’s PM industry.  The PMSA hopes that, through continuous close collaboration and exchanges with various PM professional bodies in the Mainland and learning from each other, the PM industry of the GBA could be driven hand-in-hand towards enhanced quality and professionalism, advancing healthily and developing sustainably.” 

Under the PM industry licensing regime, over 780 PM companies and more than 14,000 PM practitioners in Hong Kong have already been licensed by the PMSA, and they together provide PM services to over 2.4 million units in different types of properties in Hong Kong.  They are a major professional force and invaluable asset and resources in driving the future development of Hong Kong.

    Of the ten PMSA Recognised Professional Bodies, the Chartered Institute of Housing Asian Pacific Branch, The Hong Kong Institute of Housing and The Hong Kong Chapter of International Facility Management Association were also invited to send representatives to attend the Inauguration Ceremony of the SIPM.
